Although
bottled mineral water market volume grew in the first half of this
year by 16%, the annual consumption is only 55.2 liters of water per capita. In
countries such as Italy, Mexico or the United Arab Emirates, water consumption
exceeds 200 liters/capita.
The intensity of research
(based on the total expenses for research-development in gross domestic
product) in 2007, had a share of 0.54%, compared to 0.46% in 2006.
The FOB-CIF trade deficit in
the first 7 months of this year was 12.7 billion euro, 2.1 billion euro
higher than in the similar period of the past year. Compared with the first 7 months of 2007, exports grew by 18.5%, while imports grew by 15.2%.
The average area for housing space in Romania is

Romania
could become the seventh or eighth European economic power in the next years if
current economic trends maintain rhythm. Romania has an estimated GDP level of €133.8 billion in 2008 , and in 2014 it could reach €281 billion,
